One team, one mission: Excellence becomes an attitude

One glance at the rows of spacious Multiwheel® suitcases and each player on the national team knows which one belongs to him. “We’ve equipped each player in the tournament with SALSA DELUXE suitcases”, RIMOWA CEO Dieter Morszeck explains. These premium, custom-built cases feature the national team logo and each player’s number is on the shell of his suitcase. “We’ve added a highlight to the flaps of the interior Flex Divider system: the years in which they last won the European Championship (1972, 1980, 1996)“.

Handy SALSA DELUXE HYBRID carry-on luggage rounds out the players’ equipment. The HYBRID model is especially practical because travellers can fetch their important documents from the large front pockets without having to open the suitcase.

In time for the departure, national coach Joachim Löw gathers the young team at the German Football Association’s facilities in Frankfurt. The trip to the airport leaves at noon, where the team will board a special Lufthansa aircraft to arrive safe and sound barely 90 minutes later in Chambéry, in the French department of Savoy. From there, they head directly to their German accommodations at the Hotel Ermitage in Evian, idyllically situated on the south shore of Lake Geneva.

RIMOWA and the national team go back a long time. The Cologne-based suitcase manufacturer has been supporting the elite players for more than ten years. “We’re looking forward to some amazing playing”, says Morszeck. “It’s values like tradition, innovation and passion that we share with Jogi Löw and his team. The trick is to always aim for more than you can achieve. Otherwise, you’ll forever fall short of your potential”, he explains. “That’s what sets this team apart and the same goes for RIMOWA. Excellence becomes an attitude!”
