FULL LIFETIME GUARANTEE ON YOUR RIMOWA SUITCASE - WORLDWIDE
RIMOWA provides a lifetime manufacturer’s guarantee for new suitcases purchased from July 25, 2022 in accordance with the conditions below.
For easy enjoyment of the lifetime guarantee, please register your RIMOWA suitcase online on www.rimowa.com/myrimowa, by scanning your product using NFC (Near Field Communication). RIMOWA’s lifetime guarantee covers all functional aspects of your RIMOWA suitcase for the life of your suitcase. RIMOWA’s lifetime guarantee does not apply to cosmetic wear and tear, misuse or abuse, damages caused by negligence or accident of any third party, particularly flight or transport damages (e.g., deformation, cracks, body breakages, scratches, etc.). It is highly recommended to inspect your product immediately after retrieval from transport handling and immediately report any damage to the carrier (e.g., airline or railway company) who is insured against this. Please refer to RIMOWA’s care instructions on www.rimowa.com, especially regarding leather elements as leather is a natural product that may evolve over time, discolour or fade, particularly under the influence of skin contact, light, heat, humidity, water and unsuitable care and cleaning products.
To claim the lifetime guarantee, please contact a RIMOWA store, an authorised RIMOWA dealer, or an authorised RIMOWA service centre. You can find RIMOWA stores and authorised service centres on our website at www.rimowa.com. If the defect is covered by the guarantee, RIMOWA will repair or replace the product. You will be responsible for the cost of shipping your suitcase to RIMOWA. RIMOWA will then cover the costs incurred, including the return shipment.
The product may be replaced or repaired with parts of a comparable successor that is as close as possible to the former product/component, if an identical replacement is not available. The guarantee is limited to the value of the product. A replacement product is also covered by the lifetime guarantee.
Any other claims not expressly mentioned in these terms, including but not limited to damage claims (e.g., indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, exemplary, or other similar types of damages), are excluded. This guarantee will be governed by the Law of the Federal Republic of Germany. Your country-specific warranty rights (e.g., against the seller which you can assert free of charge) remain unaffected and may differ in the way they regulate liability for defects, compensation claims etc. This manufacturer’s guarantee is issued by RIMOWA GmbH, Richard-Byrd-Strasse 13, 50829 Cologne, Germany.
I purchased before July 25th 2022, what is my suitcase's guarantee?
5 - Year Guarantee on your RIMOWA product when registering online - Worlwide (Excluding United States and Canada)
RIMOWA provides a 5-year manufacturer’s guarantee for products registered online, in accordance with the conditions below for the first purchaser or person receiving the product as a gift, starting with the purchase date (guarantee period). Please register your RIMOWA by visiting www.rimowa.com/myrimowa, scanning your product using NFC (Near Field Communication), or via WeChat.
If you do not register online, a 2-year manufacturer’s guarantee applies. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
This guarantee only applies if the usability of the product is considerably adversely affected by a material or manufacturing defect already present at the time of hand-over or delivery.
RIMOWA’s manufacturer’s guarantee does not apply, however, to the following cases:
- Restriction of usability due to abrasion, improper use, faulty operation, or externally occurring forces, particularly flight or transport damage (e.g. deformation, cracks, body breakages, scratches, wear etc.) or due to aggressive cleaners. Please observe in particular RIMOWA’s care instructions on www.rimowa.com. Improper use also includes the continued usage of a RIMOWA suitcase despite blockings of the wheel (e.g. blockings caused by foreign objects) or impairments such as loose components (e.g. telescopic handles or wheel housings). It is highly recommended inspecting your product immediately after retrieval from transport handling and immediately reporting any damage to the carrier (e.g. airline or railway company) who is insured against this.
- Leather elements on RIMOWA products: Leather is a natural product that can change, discolour or fade, particularly under the influence of skin contact, light and water, but also through the use of unsuitable cleaners, post-purchase impregnation and textile dyes. Heat and dehydration can lead to the formation of cracks or tears in the leather.
- Incidental and consequential damages (e.g. financial losses).
To claim the guarantee, immediately inform a RIMOWA store, an authorised RIMOWA dealer or an authorised RIMOWA service centre of any defect within the guarantee period and hand over or send the product along with a copy of your proof of purchase. If the defect is covered by the guarantee, RIMOWA will repair or replace the product. For this, RIMOWA will also cover the costs incurred including the return shipment. The product may be replaced or repaired with parts of a comparable successor product. The guarantee is limited to the value of the product. A replacement product or replacement component is always only covered by a 2-year manufacturer’s guarantee.
As this guarantee will be governed by the Law of the Federal Republic of Germany, your country-specific warranty rights (e.g. against the seller) may differ in the way they regulate liability for defects, compensation claims etc.

LIMITED WARRANTY ON TRAVEL AND BUSINESS LUGGAGE. UNITED STATES AND CANADA ONLY.
RIMOWA provides a 5-year limited manufacturer’s warranty for products registered online, in accordance with the conditions below. Please register your RIMOWA by visiting www.rimowa.com/myrimowa, scanning your product using NFC (Near Field Communication), or via WeChat. If you do not register online, a 2-year limited manufacturer’s warranty applies. Please note that these limited warranties are only offered to and extend to the final consumer of the RIMOWA product, and the limited warranty is only valid when the product has been purchased from RIMOWA or an authorized RIMOWA dealer. The warranty period will commence from the purchase date provided the final consumer provides proof of purchase and otherwise will commence from the date of manufacture as determined by RIMOWA. This limited warranty only applies if the usability of the product is materially adversely affected by a fault or defect in material or workmanship in the manufacturing process present at the time of delivery to the final consumer (a defect).
RIMOWA’s limited manufacturer’s warranty does not apply, however, to the following cases:

This limited warranty also excludes damage and defects related to or caused by: normal wear and tear, ordinary deviations in size, weight or quality, misuse or abuse, improper maintenance, failure to observe safety instructions and manuals, negligence or accident by any party other than RIMOWA (including authorized RIMOWA dealers and carriers). It is highly recommended inspecting your product immediately after retrieval from transport handling and immediately reporting any damage to the carrier (e.g. courier, airline or railway company) who may provide insurance against such damage.
- Leather elements on RIMOWA products: Leather is a natural product that can change, discolor or fade, particularly under the influence of skin contact, light and water, but also through the use of unsuitable cleaners, post-purchase impregnation and textile dyes. Heat and dehydration can lead to the formation of cracks or tears in the leather.
- Any expendable parts, such as batteries and light bulbs, of any kind, which are installed in the RIMOWA product or included in the delivery.
To claim the guarantee, immediately inform a RIMOWA store, an authorised RIMOWA dealer or an authorised RIMOWA service centre of any defect within the guarantee period and hand over or send the product along with a copy of your proof of purchase. You can find RIMOWA stores and authorised service centres on our website at www.rimowa.com or visit My RIMOWA WeChat mini-program. If the defect is covered by the guarantee RIMOWA will, at its discretion, repair or replace the product at its own expense and pay the return shipment costs. You are responsible for the cost of delivering the product to the RIMOWA service center or authorized RIMOWA dealer. The product may be replaced by a comparable successor product. If RIMOWA determines the claim is not covered, you will be responsible for any return shipment costs. All parts removed in the repair of the product shall be the property of RIMOWA upon their replacement. Any product replaced shall be the property of RIMOWA upon delivery of the replacement product. The repair or replacement of the product shall not extend this warranty and a replacement product or replacements parts are always only covered by a 2-year limited manufacturer’s warranty.
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AGAINST RIMOWA. IN NO EVENT WILL RIMOWA OR ITS SERVICE CENTERS BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL (E.G. FINANCIAL LOSSES), SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY OR OTHER SIMILAR TYPES OF DAMAGES. ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED. RIMOWA’S TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY YOU FOR THE PRODUCT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM AS SHOWN ON THE PROOF OF PURCHASE OR, IF PROOF OF PURCHASE IS NOT PROVIDED, TO RIMOWA’S SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE FOR THE PRODUCT IN YOUR COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE AT THE TIME THE CLAIM IS MADE.
HOW U.S. LAW APPLIES TO THIS WARRANTY (FOR U.S. RESIDENTS ONLY)
This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. U.S. federal warranty law prohibits the disclaimer of implied warranties, so the above disclaimer of implied warranties may not apply to you. If the disclaimer of implied warranties does not apply to you, the duration of the applicable implied warranties is restricted to the 5-year or 2-year duration of this warranty, depending on whether you register your product online.
This limited manufacturer’s warranty will be governed by the Law of the Federal Republic of Germany and is issued by the RIMOWA GmbH, Richard-Byrd- Strasse 13, 50829 Cologne, Germany.
