Ingenieurskunst,
the Art of Engineering
This commitment to Ingenieurskunst means we make all our suitcases in our own factories, to our own meticulous standards.
Resilience and repairability are core to our philosophy. Our Lifetime Guarantee reflects our dedication to repairing your suitcases whenever possible, offering repair services across our stores to keep your favourite travel companion journeying with you.
OUR SUSTAINABILITY VALUES IN ACTION
Circularity
Our design ethos prioritises necessary components, ensuring every part has a purpose.
Our suitcases are crafted with longevity in mind, using durable parts, meaning that they can be repaired for years onwards. We minimise waste in our production processes. What little is left behind is carefully treated and we are proud to be able to recycle or regenerate our industrial aluminium and polycarbonate scrap. We even repurpose most of the leftover polycarbonate for various concealed parts that contribute to the structure and stability of our suitcases.
RE-CRAFTED
RIMOWA's collection of pre-loved luggage
The inherent durability of our products allows us to breathe new life into pre-loved suitcases through our RE-CRAFTED programme. We recondition used aluminium RIMOWA suitcases, that have a minimum of two wheels, no matter the age. With that we offer our clients the opportunity to acquire a suitcase with a story through a sustainable, circular model. The RE-CRAFTED programme is currently available only in Germany, Japan, the USA, Korea.
Materials
We champion responsible and ethical sourcing practices, closely monitoring social and environmental risks within our supply chain.
Across our processes, we strive to optimise resource use and drive corporate action towards improving our environmental footprint. The core materials used for our suitcases – aluminium and polycarbonate - are highly recyclable. We source most of our leather from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG), ensuring minimal environmental impact.
Our Nylon bags are crafted entirely from ECONYL®, a premium regenerated nylon that conserves millions of liters of crude oil compared to traditional nylon, reflecting our commitment to combining sustainability with expert craftsmanship.
We contribute to safeguarding human health and the environment by using recycled and recyclable paper from sustainably managed forests for our shopping bags, hangtags, and compendiums. Our dustbags are made with viscose from sustainably managed sources.

Sites
Driving corporate action to improve our environmental footprint, we encourage efficient resource utilisation across all sites.
Our stores, as well as our German & Czech production facilities, use renewable electricity with certified proof of origin. Most of our stores use 100% LED lighting and use smart energy meters to optimise and reduce electricity consumption.
Commitments
We annually monitor and actively reduce our carbon footprint by decreasing energy consumption, increasing reliance on renewable sources.
Actively exploring circular and eco-design principles, we switched dustbags from cotton to certified viscose in 2022 and have been reducing airfreight shipments since 2023. We continuously establish quality improvement and sustainability objectives to track progress and refine our practices.
Adherence to all applicable national and international environmental laws and regulations as well as other applicable legal requirements is a fundamental prerequisite for conducting our business. As part of the LVMH Group, our environmental actions are aligned with the LVMH LIFE 360 programme (LVMH Initiatives For the Environment).
