A look at: RIMOWA Ginza, Tokyo

Following the opening of one of the most anticipated RIMOWA stores this past December, the grand opening celebrations for RIMOWA’s first flagship in Japan were underway at the start of the month of February.

RIMOWA CEO Alexandre Arnault invited guests to a cocktail event at the new 544m2 store in the popular luxury shopping district of Ginza 7-Chome.

Those in attendance included Mr. Takashi Murakami, Mr. Hiroshi Fujiwara, Ms. Emi Suzuki, Mr. Ryo Ryusei, Mr. Yu Shirota, Ms. Rina Fukushi, Ms. Makiko Takizwa, Ms. Saila Kunikida, as well as AMBUSH’s YOON and VERBAL, and many more renowned culture icons in Japan.

During the event, guests enjoyed the opportunity to meet, greet, and exchange views on travel and lifestyle, as well as the dynamic live-painting performed by Japanese calligraphic artist MAMI, whose work fuses the ancient linguistic art of traditional Japanese calligraphy with contemporary hip hop and graffiti.

To commemorate the first flagship in Japan, the grand opening showcased a special edition luggage handle and tag created exclusively for the RIMOWA Ginza 7 opening event by Japanese label AMBUSH, founded by VERBAL and YOON.

Made in Italy of fluorescent orange varnished leather, the limited-edition AMBUSH travel accessories were part of RIMOWA’s personalisation range, which includes customisable leather handles for the RIMOWA Classic Collection, coloured wheels, and luggage tags.

RIMOWA Ginza 7-Chome is proud to be one of the few stores in the world offering personalisation services.
